The Challenges
When Rosie, Essex’s premier cake artist, approached me to reimagine her brand identity and create her first website, her primary challenge was standing out in a competitive market while maintaining a warm and inviting tone. Rosie wanted her brand presence to capture her creative cake designs and showcase her unique personality as both an artisan and a professional.
Rosie had outgrown her original branding, as she was transitioning her business to cater to the high-end bridal market. Her online presence relied solely on Instagram, which limited her ability to demonstrate the full scope of her work. Without a dedicated website, potential clients found it difficult to learn about her services or enquire easily. Rosie needed a polished, cohesive brand identity and an elegant digital presence to reflect her ambitions and appeal to her new target audience.

Brand Identity Creation
- Logo Design: I designed a playful yet modern logo with warm, flowing curves to mirror Rosie’s approachable personality and her eye for intricate artistry. The use of vibrant magenta and orange gave the brand a distinct and welcoming look.
- Colour Palette: The colour scheme incorporated rich magenta, soft lavender, peach, and warm orange—blending sophistication with a sense of fun to capture the heart of Rosie’s work.
- Typography: I paired ‘Bethany’ for headers with ‘PP Mori’ for body text to provide a blend of elegance and readability, perfect for both print and web applications.
- Graphic Elements: Custom icons, including illustrations of cakes and frosting tools, highlighted Rosie’s meticulous craft and added a unique, branded touch.
Website Design
- User Experience (UX): I designed a straightforward, user-friendly layout that enabled visitors to browse Rosie’s portfolio with ease. Clear calls to action encouraged enquiries and bookings directly from the site.
- Visual Appeal: Bold and colourful imagery placed Rosie’s intricate cake designs front and centre, with hero banners and vibrant accents making an immediate impact.
- Interactive Features: I introduced enquiry forms, client testimonials, and subtle animations to create a dynamic yet seamless browsing experience.

Beyond the website, I extended the new branding into other key areas, developing business cards, social media templates, and packaging designs to maintain consistency across all customer touchpoints.
